Frequently asked questions

MUTECARD IS A JAMMER CARD.

MuteCard is a small card you attach to your passport and debit card in order to protect your personal data from being read and misused.

Personal information is stored on your passport and payment card – They are stored on a so-called RFID chip (RadioFrekvensIDentifikation).

Payment cards that you can easily use to pay with and enter with without the use of a PIN code, fingerprint or other security, hold unprotected information about you. The information can be read and stolen with a mobile phone and later copied and misused.
It’s called digital theft.

MuteCard protects passports and cards from being hacked, as a MuteCard blocks or mutes so that the information cannot be read.

A MuteCard is the size of a debit card.
We sugggest one MuteCard next to your payment cards in order to protect the cards in your wallet and one MuteCard in your passport cover to protect your passport.

MuteCard is Danish quality – developed in Herlev, Denmark and based on patented danish technology.

DIGITAL THEFT IS WHEN YOUR PAYMENT CARDS ARE COPYED AND USED WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE.

Your debit cards and passports include an RFID chip – a built-in radio transmitter that makes them easy to use.

It is cards with the symbol, which have a built-in radio transmitter. These cards are called RFID or contactless cards.
Criminals equipped with a mobile phone or scanner can inadvertently eavesdrop on the information on your passport and cards. Once the hacker has the card’s information, he or she can misuse the information.

Your passport also has a built-in radio transmitter. If a criminal has the passport information, it is easy to pretend to be you and thus steal your identity. Your CPR number is in your passport and with that information, the hacker can access information in public systems, create loans in your name etc.

Once you have been the victim of digital theft the following happens

  • ● it costs time and money to get new cards
    ● you must correct all the places where you have registered the cards
    ● you may risk being abroad without the possibility of liquidity because your cards have been hacked
    ● but probably worst of all is the feeling of having been robbed of personal information and not knowing what it has been used for.

We therefore strongly recommend that you put a MuteCard in your wallet and a MuteCard in your passport cover.

PAYMENT CARD WITH THE SYMBOL ON ARE CALLED RFID CARDS OR CONTACT CARDS

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) card contains a radio transmitter. The information on contactless cards is unprotected and anyone with a mobile phone or scanner can read them. With the card’s data, others can withdraw money from your account.

There are several ways to protect contactless cards

  • Wrap the card in tin foil / silver paper
  • Buy two metal cards and place them on both sides of the card
  • Buy a purse with RFID protection – it is available both with metal foil or with a skimmer / jammer function
  • Buy a MuteCard and put it in your wallet. MuteCard contains advanced technology and it both blocks and has a noise transmitter – ie a jammer card

Staniol / silver paper protects your cards and blocks the signals. But in the case of a high power scanner, silver paper is not enough. Here, the MuteCard comes into its own, as it sends noise towards the signal. So the louder the signal, the more noisy and “sorry” MuteCard. In addition, MuteCard is nice and convenient to have lying around with your payment cards. MuteCard is the size of a payment card and fits in all wallets.

We recommend that you put one MuteCard together with your payment cards and one MuteCard in your passport case – then you are completely protected against digital eavesdropping and hacking.

RFID IS THE ABBREVIATION FOR R ADIO F REQUENCY ID ENTIFICATION AND IS A MODERN EDITION OF THE BAR CODE.

Payment card contains a passive RFID tag. When the radio signal from a scanner hits the payment card, it receives power and starts sending the card number etc.

A MuteCard also receives power from scanners.

Below is a picture of a MuteCard inside. The finished card has a hard plastic front and back.

The wire around the short edge is the antenna and this is where the power is generated. The round circle is the electronics themselves.

Below is a passport lit by a bright light. The 4 wires around the edge are the antenna and the black blob is the chip.

The information in the passport is protected by a simple encryption.

THERE IS CARD CLASH

– that is, when two different cards, such as a MasterCard and a Dankort, are close together.

Card Clash occurs when two contactless cards using RFID technology are recognized by a scanner at the same time. If a criminal scans your wallet, typically one of the cards will “shout” louder than the other and that card will be read. But you may be lucky that the two payment cards protect each other, so to be completely sure, we recommend that you always have a MuteCard in your wallet
